Welcome! The Elk City School District Food Services Program and staff look forward to providing your child(ren) with healthy meals and a positive lunch experience throughout the school year. Please click here to participate in a survey about our Child Nutrition Program. A solid educational experience is important and good nutrition plays a vital role in helping students reach their maximum potential. We are pleased to provide meals that meet the requirements of the National School Lunch Program, as well as appeal to students and staff.
The current Child Nutrition Program is much different from when it first started in 1946. The primary customer has shifted from parents and administrators to students. Students today are more sophisticated and are exposed at an earlier age to a variety of types of food. They live in an environment of fast food restaurants and food courts. Choices have become the norm rather than the exception. To keep pace with the ever-changing market, school food services must continuously adjust to the wants and needs of the customer. This involves continuously asking the students such questions as, “How happy are you with the school food service and nutrition program?”, “What one thing do you like best about your school food service and nutrition program that you would never change?” and “If you could change one thing about your school food service and nutrition program, what would it be?“.
The Elk City School District Food Service Department Team is conducting a breakfast and lunch menu survey. We are seeking input from parents and community members to improve the dining experiences for students. We welcome any ideas and thoughts on how we can better serve and meet the needs off ALL our students. In order to best accomplish this task we are asking for your help by completing this survey by July 21, 2014. Results will be posted by July 28, 2014.
Thank you in advance for your help,
Child Nutrition Director
