Last but not least for the spotlight is the Office Staff. This group never knows what the day will bring and as a result they do their best to always be available. Simply put, this is a group that is here to support students, teachers, and families!
The trend continues with the spotlight reaching the paraprofessionals. These people are unsung heroes and are there for so many struggling friends day in and day out. They help in ensuring every child has the chance to grow!
The spotlight next shifts to highlighting our Teacher Assistants. They serve wherever needed and epitomize the true meaning of being a helper. They are a major part of the heartbeat here at the Elementary!
Our Specials and Speech Pathologist gang gets the spotlight next! They bring the fun and service so many different kiddos every single day. They are a big reason so many kids truly enjoy coming to school!
The staff spotlight has now made its way to the Kindergarten wing. This group displays endless patience. There is so much that a little mind can learn and we really start to see that blossom at this level!
Staff spotlight now features our 2nd Grade team! There can be some jokesters in this bunch and that makes learning all the more fun! They continually push students to grow daily!
Moving right along for our staff spotlight is the 1st Grade crew! They are the ultimate team and work extremely well together. They continue to make sure students are always progressing in such a standard heavy year!
We continue our staff spotlight by moving to the other end of the building and highlighting the group that students see last before leaving the Elementary! This 3rd grade team is full of experience and they make sure every student has the tools for success as they make their way up through the district!
We would like to spotlight our amazing staff periodically before the school year begins. We will start with our wonderful Pre-K teachers! This group goes above and beyond to make sure the first taste of school that students get is the absolute best!
As we approach the first day of school and the car lines becoming active, we wanted to provide a map for traffic flow and also some things to be conscious of. Being attentive to all these details will keep our students safe and make for a great start to the school year!
NEW STUDENT ENROLLMENT (2026–2027 SCHOOL YEAR)
Who: Only for students who did not attend Elk City Public Schools last year (new to the district).
When: August 5, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Where: Elk City High School
Details: Covers all grade levels PreK - 12; representatives from every school site will be on hand to help enroll your child.
What to Bring / Prepare
Student's birth certificate
Student's current immunization record
Parent/guardian proof of residency (e.g., utility bill, lease agreement, or mortgage statement within the past 60 days)

RETURNING students do not attend. We will update when RETURNING student enrollment opens.
Meet the Teacher Night will be next week on the evening of August 6th. Flyer below has all the details. Teachers will be reaching out early next week regarding who your child will have. Also, Enrollment day will be August 5th. The start of school is almost upon us!

Our teachers have been shown a lot of love for Teacher Appreciation Week! We were treated to donuts by Endurance Federal Credit Union, sonic drinks by Rhonda Smith at Interlinc Mortgage, gift baskets from Wal Mart, and a fantastic staff meal from Manny's! Thank you to all those who show why our community is the absolute greatest!
We can't let National Nurses Week end without acknowledging all of our district nurses that take care of us! They serve four sites and have even added Telehealth recently. Thank you to Lindsay Marks, Brooke Buller, and Kandi Heimer for their ongoing commitment to keeping our students safe and healthy!
