Second and 3rd grade GT students visited the Red Carpet Community Theatre today. They got to use the light board, go on stage, and tour backstage. They learned about set design, lighting design, sound design, stage management, and how to stage crew. A big thank you to Bailey Carpenter for teaching the kids about the theater and Stephanie Ellis for showing them backstage. It’s what we do. #lead #learn #grow

Attending the Oklahoma Society for Technology Education (OKSTE) Conference in Tulsa is a wonderful opportunity for the Elk City Educators to stay updated on the latest technology trends in education. Mr. Tony Chauncey's role as the OKSTE Vice President is certainly an honor and a testament to his expertise in the field.

Today was a busy day for our Elementary friends! "Hats off to a drug-free me!" and a special visit to the Pioneer Center to see a Cinderella play by a traveling group from the Lyric Theater. We planned to walk, but our plans were changed by the rain. So, for some of our PK students, it was their very first ride on a school bus! Photos courtesy Mrs. Gilliland.
Join us Friday for the costume parade. The parade will begin at 2:00 pm. Parents are welcome to attend. Parents will be able to check their students from the teacher in the gym. Thank you so much for all you do! It's what we do. #lead #learn #grow

ECE is about more than teaching our students their ABCs and 123s. Our staff teaches our students life long skills they can take with them when they leave our building.
For example, Mrs. Tew's class each wrote words of affirmation to one another. The students proudly displayed their positive notes on their desk! When asking a student how that made her feel, she replied, "It made me feel really good!". What an awesome way to teach children how to see and recognize the good in others, and how good it feels when others recognize the good we do!
