Mrs. Hopper and Mrs. Sheppard had some balloon racing to go along with their Physical Science standards this week! The students were able to share a lot of information about different particles of matter, the amount of air in the balloons vs the results, and explain/chart the outcomes. EC Intermediate has loved cheering on our Big Elks tonight in the football home opener! Big Elk football, cheer, band, and color guard were all impressive! Congrats on the win, Big Elks!

Feet Up Friday in Mrs. Bruner's class was a big hit! The students are loving it so far. We are always striving to instill a love for reading and working to make reading fun!

The One Church Teacher of the Week is Mrs. Varnell! Mrs. Varnell has been an incredible addition to our staff here! The students love her class as she builds strong relationships and keeps everyone constantly engaged! She has displayed choice boards as well as other interactive activities that keep the kids attentive and on task! We are so thankful to have Mrs. Varnell as part of our team here at ECIS! Congratulations, Mrs. Varnell!
Our campus recently received some new playground equipment for the 4th grade playground! Very thankful for everyone who helped play a part in making this happen! And there is still more to come!

5th & 6th Grade Band Announcement!
Dear Parents,
This Thursday, August 24th, the Elk City Band Program is hosting our annual Ice Cream Social. It will start at 7:00 p.m. in the High School Pioneer Center Auditorium. We will feature our High School Band, color guard, and drumline as they perform some of our 2023 selections. After the performance we will head to the High School Commons to enjoy ice cream and deserts. This is a great family event and we invite you to come enjoy an evening of food, fellowship, and fun. The Band Booster officers will be there to help with Band Booster memberships. We are asking parents to bring either a case of water or a box of individually wrapped snacks. These items will be given to band kids when we travel to away events. We thank you and hope to see you there.
