Day in and day out, teachers make a difference for our students, school, and community. At Elk City Elementary, we have some of the BEST staff members! We want to acknowledge their significant impact; hence, our new staff award, Making a Difference Award. This reward will recognize Elk City Elementary PK-1st grade staff members who positively impact our school community. This award is an opportunity to celebrate the stories of our staff members who have gone above and beyond in their profession. Staff, parents, students, and community members can submit the name of a PK-1st staff member they would like to nominate to receive the Making a Difference Award. Award Winners will be recognized each month during Rise & Shine. Nominate a staff member here: https://forms.gle/TgoA5L2aetEdVUJW6 It's what we do. #lead #learn #grow

Shout out to Ellie Allen this morning. She stopped in the hall to salute the flags properly even with friends running down the hall. She stood there for the moment of silence and than peacefully went to class. It's what we do. #lead #learn #grow

One of the responsibilities of our third grade leadership team is conducting our daily morning announcements. Today, Wyatt Berlin and Mrs. Hinds led our students in the American & Oklahoma State Flag Salute and the Moment of Silence, celebrated birthdays, and left us with words of encouragement for our Thoughtful Thursday. We always end our announcements with..."Make it a great day or not, the choice is yours!"

Good afternoon!
One of the fundraisers we do to help brighten our kids days and to help provide a better work environment for our staff is Popcorn Sale and Snack Sale. Balanced life requires healthy rewards and treats are an excellent way to quickly brighten days. These sales also help fund more opportunities for our children to enjoy learning in more ways than just snacks.
This week parents/guardians, please expect for your Elk City Elementary students to bring home a form like this from school. Return it with $10 to school and we will get them a Snack Pass filled out based off of the information provided. (Checks can be made to ECE PTO)
We believe this is an easier way for parents to help their students learn a little about budgeting snack money. This also allows for you know that your Popcorn/Snack funds are going where you want them to go. (To help brighten their day and to raise money for them to have access to more education resources.)
Your children can still participate by bringing cash or change in for their treats. We tried to listen to parents and teachers who were saying we needed to try another way and we believe this meets our needs currently. Thank you for your kind participation and support as we learn together.
(Follow the QR codes on the back of the page [or look for ECE PTO on Venmo or CashApp] for online payment options. Please answer all information on each student of yours at ECE if you pay through either of those options.)
If you, your business, or family member would like to donate to the worthy cause of childhood education, please message us. I believe we could help make sure every child gets to have their days brightened for a time this year.

Our bus drivers are working hard keeping our buses spick and span, and we need your help. Students will not be allowed to eat or have any writing utensils out while on the bus. Please discuss these procedures with your child, as these actions will be bus write-ups. You can find our Bus Policy on our website. We look forward to having nice, clean buses for many years to come! #takingcareofwhatwehave Elk City Schools #alwaysgrowing
