Congratulations to Elk City Intermediate Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Julie Copeland! Mrs. Copeland is nothing short of exceptional. She is always working with students to ensure they have every opportunity for success. The dedication and excitement she demonstrates each day is inspiring. From being an amazing teacher to an incredible colleague, she contributes exponentially to our students, faculty, and community! We are so thankful she is at Elk City Intermediate and excited to celebrate her! Again, congratulations Mrs. Copeland! It's great to be in The Brown and White!

School will resume for students on Tuesday, January 7. We look forward to seeing our students and kicking off an incredible second semester!

Merry Christmas from all of us at ECIS! Please enjoy a snapshot from our last week before break, starting with our door decorating contest this year! We also had 4th, 5th, & 6th grade winners from the Christmas time dodgeball tournament! Lastly, thank you to several families (Bradshaw, Felts, Jones, McCoy, Youngblood, Yow, and Sanford) for treating our staff to a great breakfast this holiday season!

Both our 5th and 6th grade academic teams have brought home hardware lately! Both placed 2nd in recent tournaments! Congrats to both teams and their Coach, Mrs. Dunn! It's always a great day to be in "The Brown and White!"

Mrs. Noblitt's math classes playing Grudge Match with Minute to Win It games in order to practice skills that we struggled with on Benchmark 2. It got crazy and noisy, but it was FUN!

We had a few different people spreading holiday cheer last week! Rhonda Smith with Interlinc Mortgage delivered some much needed caffeine in the form of sonic drinks. We are always appreciative of your kindness! We also had some thoughtful parents drop off some cinnamon rolls for our building. Thank you Redd family! Treats around the holidays just taste better. We love where we live!

Announcement 📣 Parents, next week in health we will be doing a lesson on reading nutrition labels where students can bring a snack and a drink. Half of the students will have the lesson on Monday and the other half will be on Friday. For more details please check your Thrillshare for a message from Coach Varnell.

'Tis the Season here at ECIS! 🎄 We celebrated 4th Grade IXL winners for Math: Leo Boone & Jarrea Hull We celebrated 5th Grade IXL winners for ELA: Able Banks, Bentley McLane, & Andre Foster We were then able to honor the December Lions Cubs of the Month: Bridges Duran and Kendra Keslar Also, the latest Mountain Man award winners for attendance: 4th Grade: Mrs. Dunn's class 5th Grade: Mrs. Burton's class 6th Grade: Mrs. Williams class The One Church Teacher of the Week was Mrs. Copeland! Mrs. Copeland works tirelessly to make sure her students are progressing every day. She stresses movement and centers in her classroom, thus making sure all students are consistently engaged in the lesson. She also pursues professional development opportunities so she can continue to grow and learn what works best. She is such a valued member at ECIS! A November to remember at ECIS! We have much to be thankful for during this season. We are thankful for our Honor Choir and Mrs. Ragan for the fantastic job they did performing at the Veterans Day Assembly! We are also thankful for our school SRO's and Officer Valencia for leading our 5th grade D.A.R.E curriculum! They celebrated a graduation to end the program! Sonic Drinks supplied by Rhonda Smith and Interlinc Mortgage! We also had our latest Antler Alert. It showcased our 6th grade students and their creativity with balloons as they gave us a preview of the Macy's Day Parade! 4th Grade Math IXL Winners: Raylie Young and Linkyn Brown Mountain Man's Attendance Award winners: 4th Grade: Mrs. Dunn's class 5th Grade: Mrs. Hoppers class 6th Grade: Mrs. Williams class The One Church Teacher of the Week was Coach Varnell! Coach Varnell is making sure students understand how important their health is. He has engaging lessons and constantly has students thinking of how they can be healthier. He connects with every student on campus and is always willing to help when needed. Congratulations once again to Coach Varnell!

*Attention Parents of 5th Grade* Our 5th graders will be having their D.A.R.E (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) graduation this Wednesday, November 20th, at 9:30 in the pioneer center. We would enjoy seeing you there!

Student Council sponsored a canned food drive this last week at ECIS. Between all three grades we collected a total of 383 cans! 4th grade winners for bringing the most were: Phoenix Dixon, Emory Merz, and Rowan Morrison 5th grade winners for bringing the most were: Owen Lenius, Kamri Bortell, and Kathryn Givens 6th grade winners for bringing the most were: Vaneza Reyes, Aubree Williams, and Lennox Maddox 5th grade was the overall grade winner as they collected 180 of the 383 total! What You Do Matters!
