4th grade students from Mrs. James, Mrs. Murphy and some of Ms. LeGrand’s class learned about patterns and weaving technique in Mrs. Snipes’ Art class today. Artists made their own paper loom and weaved their own color pattern.

What You Do Matters!

Our teachers spent the day working within their subject area teams, looking at new techniques and building their curriculum maps to best serve and support every student! They also spent time perfecting the alignment to ensure success as students progress through each grade. The excitement and enthusiasm shows how exceptional this team is and their pride in being in The Brown and White!

Intermediate GT students spent Wednesday with our school nurses. They learned about the importance of knowing your blood type, how to perform the Heimlich maneuver, 5th and 6th graders learned how to take blood pressure, and 4th graders listened to each other's heartbeats as they learned how to use a stethoscope. Students also were guided in the process of finding out their blood type with a blood typing kit. Even Mrs. Watkins and Mrs. Williams participated in typing their blood! Thank you to Nurses Lindsey Marks and Brooke Buller for coming and teaching our students. It's what we do! #Learn #Lead #Grow

Tomorrow, April 2nd, PTO will be having a snack sale. All items will be $1.

Mrs. Copeland's Homeroom had the opportunity to experiment with acrylic paint pouring to make one of a kind pieces of art in Mrs. Snipes' Art class. They loved the freedom of making abstract pieces. The first rule from Mrs. Snipes was "Don't think, just create!" Mrs. Watkins and Mrs. Williams even got to participate and loved every moment! Our students and staff are so lucky to have Mrs. Snipes. She has created some outstanding artists from students who believed they weren't artists.
